Two stories. One shared discovery.

SOMNELA began with a personal story. Or rather, two.

One of us was looking for a gentler way to care for her skin. The other wanted to protect the beauty of her hair. Two different concerns, united by one desire: to find something that truly met our needs.

Through our research, we discovered mulberry silk. Its softness, its delicate touch and the benefits we experienced ourselves inspired us to go further.

We did not want to create just another beauty accessory. We wanted to offer beautiful, useful essentials that would become a natural part of everyday life and make a meaningful difference through their softness.

That is how a personal search became a shared project: introducing others to a material that had already found its place in our lives.

A personal need became a desire to care for others.

We believe luxury is found in the details. In the choice of a fabric, the precision of a finish and the sensation of silk against the skin.

With this belief in mind, we develop our creations in France, paying close attention to their aesthetic appeal, comfort and everyday use.

To bring them to life, we work with partners specialising in silk craftsmanship in the Suzhou region of China, celebrated for its longstanding silk heritage.
